Operation Characteristics of LED Filament Bulbs

The experimental results showed the characteristics of LED filament bulbs for a long-term operation. The reduction of luminous flux and luminous efficacy was determined during a 10 000-hour operation. Radiation spectra of the lamp in the wavelength range from 400 nm to 750 nm were measured before and after 10 000 hours of work. A built-in device was tested by switching it on and off. Experimental findings revealed 31% decrease of luminous flux and 35 % luminous efficacy. The blue component of the LED lamp spectrum, chip radiation, in relation to the phosphor emission spectrum, increased by 0,25 relative units in contrast to the initial spectrum and the change was 41%. While testing the power device of the lamp, the numbers of cycles reached 19440 without the efficiency loss that is in accordance with the standard GOST R 54815 – 2011, 38,9 thousand hours of service life at least. Moreover, the lamp samples were tested to find out their operating life at high ambient temperature of 45 ºС for 1000 hours. In addition, the luminous flux decreased by 2,5 % in contrast with its value before the experiment.
